So Annoyed

So blogging has been put on hold because this awful computer won't let me pull up my pictures for some reason.  Any "computer people" out there have a suggestion?  Every time I try to open my pictures folder from the hard drive it says Window Explorer has encountered a problem and it closes.  Anyway, hopefully it will just decide to work soon so that I can resume blogging, I was in such a good groove, I hope this doesn't derail me. :)

A Minivan Momma

We had a great weekend and I actually can check one thing off my Christmas Wish List....on Friday October 22, 2010 we bought our first mini-van.  I think i can officially say I am a MOM.  I am marking the date because I have forever sworn I would NEVER drive a van....that is until I had two kids under the age of 2 and I realized just how much room they have and how convenient they are...automatic opening doors, dvd player, 3 rows of seats and tons of storage....anyone?  You get the point...and I can honestly say that I LOVE this thing!  I will gladly roll up in my minivan, heck I may even get those little family silhouettes to go on the back window....or maybe I'm not that much of a mom yet. :)  Pictures of said van soon to come, I'll even see if I can get Jason to pose with it. ;)

And just because I don't like a post without pictures:
Caden in Daddy's boots
Sweet Mase, snoozing in his car seat.

Pictures from our busy weekend and Mason's 3-month pictures coming soon!

Steppin' Out Sunday Style

Mandy at Harper's Happenings (cutest little girl ever, by the way) does this blog hop every week.  It is so fun to see everybody's outfits and Lord knows I need all the style help I can get. :)
Mason:
entire sweater outfit, including hat - Marhalls

Me:
shirt - Kohls
cardigan - Target
necklace - Charlotte Russe
jeans - TJ Maxx

Caden:
shirt- Gap
jeans - Gap
shoes - Ross

Jason:
I have no idea but I think the shirt is from Wal-Mart.

Don't tell anybody but this was my Saturday outfit as well.  Hey, I don't have many clothes that fit so I have to recycle outfits....as long as they don't get spit up or poop or something on them, and also as long as I am around different people.  :)  I also just realized you can't see my shoes but they were cute black flats....just imagine them on my feet, I promise they're down there.
Here is a better picture where you can actually see Mason, he was basically glowing in the other one. Not only do I need style help but some photography help would be good too. :)

Dan Nicholas Park

So this week flew by and forgot to blog about last weekend.  On Friday we went to Jason's parents house to celebrate Mary Ann's birthday and Jason and Melissa's since we missed out last week when Caden was sick.  On Saturday Jason went to the race in Charlotte so my Mom, Jeff, and I took Caden and Mason to Dan Nicholas Park.  We had so much fun and Caden LOVED it.  He is all about trains and animals and the park had both so he was in heaven.  They also have an awesome playground and he played himself out!  We will definitely be going back soon!  We had plans to go to the pumpkin patch on Sunday but it didn't work out this weekend, but we will definitely be going sometime soon!  Here are a couple of pics from our weekend.
Mason and cousin Eli
I love his blue eyes. :)
Riding the goat on the fastest carousel ever.
Riding on trains with boys.
Looking at the sheep, his favorite of the day.
He has become such a little boy.
Mason and Nini
He always looks like he is up to something.
Sliding with Mom
Mason and Poppy
I had to include this one even though it is awful of me because of Caden's face...I see this face 1000 times a day and it is one of my favorite things. :)

Christmas Wish List

1.  A swagger wagon. Yes, I'm serious my Commander has shrunk since adding a second car seat and I would LOVE a car with more room. :)

2.  A new laptop! HA! I don't really expect a new laptop but I seriously need one...mine is on its' last leg!  While I'm dreaming big, I would also like my new laptop to be a Mac. :)

3.  A new camera strap.  The one I have now is broken.  I love pretty much all of these from this etsy seller, I also LOVE that it has a lens cap holder, I am forever losing mine!
4.  A messenger style diaper bag...yes Jason I need another one. ;) I really need a bag that I can sling across my body because I really need both arms free.

5.  A mens style watch.  Clearly I'm not getting one of these considering they are like $800 or so but you get the idea. :)

6. Some Tom's Shoes...they're cute, comfy, and the best part?  For every pair you buy they donate a pair to kids in need. How awesome is that?
7.  Some new clothes that actually fit me and that I like....Fall/Winter '08 I was hugely pregnant with Caden...Fall/Winter '09 I became pregnant with Mason...so here we are Fall/Winter '10 and I am in serious need of some new Fall/Winter clothes!

So this is what I can think of right now...perhaps I'll think of some more things to add to my fantasy Christmas list. :)

A Few of My Favorite Things

Mason is a VERY smiley baby, basically he smiles all day, awake or asleep.  There are some odd things that make him smile really big though, and he will just sit and stare at these things just a grinnin'.
First we have the old favorite, the ceiling fan...Caden loved it when he was a baby as well....doesn't matter if it is moving or not, it's just plain fun to look at!

Then we have the light fixture in the kitchen.  When we are cooking or cleaning in the kitchen Mason is often sitting in his bouncy seat on the table...I know it is a "no no" but it is definitely safer than sitting him on the floor where Caden can have easy access. :) He sits directly under the light fixture and he LOVES it.
He also loves any kind of decorative, wall flower.  He specifically loves these, which he can see both of while sitting on the sofa.  He will just talk and talk to these.

Finally, we have our headboard...unmade bed and all. :) During our occasional night time feeding he will grin at it while I burp him, even though it's so dark I don't know how he sees it.

No raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens round these parts. :)

Toy Story on Ice

This past Sunday, we went to see Toy Story on Ice.  My mom (Nini to Caden) got us tickets several months ago and we've been anxiously waiting for the date to arrive.  Caden has been obsessed with Toy Story since this summer when he watched it on the way to the beach.  After that he literally woke up asking to watch it, and he watched it everyday for a couple of months and we still watch it a couple of times a week.  He will usually sit and watch the whole thing which is pretty impressive considering he typically isn't still for very long!

We all had a great time and Caden was so cute, he got so excited when Mickey came out he couldn't even look, he buried his head in Jason's shoulder and just grinned.
Caden was so excited to see Mickey and "the gang" he loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too so it was a fun surprise to see them!
Woody and Buzz and the aliens!
The Toys.  Caden loved Rex or Dino as he calls him. :)
I don't know who was more excited...me and Jason or Caden.  Mason slept the whole time...surprise, surprise. :)
Caden and Nini dancing...after intermission he started dancing and twirling, he was so cute!

We all had a great time.  Thanks Mom!

Summer Recap: May

**Edit: I started this post obviously on the first day of fall but forgot to publish so better late than never and I am still going to recap the rest of the summer too....just for myself to look back on but feel free to look back with me if you so desire. :)  Just a warning these posts are extremely long.

So since it is the first full day of fall I thought I would do a recap of the summer since I didn't really post these past few months.  I blame the heat and that big 'ole baby that I was carrying around for my lack of motivation! :)  Also, I realize that May is technically spring but since it has been so hot since April I am counting it as summer! HA!

We went to Oak Island for a long weekend, my friend Liz got married on Bald Head Island so we took Caden along for a mini-vacation.  Nevermind that he had step throat and a double ear infection that we didn't know about it...way to go mom and dad!  Caden was a trooper and we still had a great time! Here are a ton of pictures...I can't believe how much older he looks now. Makes a momma sad.
Beach baby!
A rare picture of of us...I seem to always be behind the camera!
Checking out the waves. :)
He LOVES his dump truck, passed down from cousin Logan.
A sweet family picture.
Pointing at the birds...he loved them!

Silly Boy.
Caden and Nini
Caden and Poppy checking out the water!

Besides the beach here are some of the other happenings of May 2010:
Melissa, my sister in law, had a baby shower....we were due a day apart!

Caden decided jumping out of his crib was a lot of fun so he was moved into a twin bed at 17 months...luckily for us he continued to sleep very well!
Helping Dad take down the crib.
Putting his new bed together.

We celebrated my 2nd mother's day...as a Mommy of 2!
We went to Mayfest with the Barry's...which I actually blogged about here!
And finally....I was 7 months pregnant and getting BIG!

Stay tuned for a June recap....hopefully sometime this year. :)
